Community & Philanthropy

Giving Back to our Communities

At Atlantic, giving back to the communities we serve is part of our corporate DNA.  We endeavor to make positive change and have established many community and philanthropic partnerships over the years supporting not-for-profit organizations who make a difference.

Atlantic budgets $800,000 a year to support the below listed organizations and many others.  We are also extremely proud of our employees who are actively involved in assisting charities and foundations with fundraisers, community events, mentoring and more.

the friendship circle

Friendship Circle

How we support...

The Friendship Circle promotes a greater awareness and understanding of the unique needs and the unique gifts of people with special needs, and encourages respect and empathy for those facing challenges.

Children and teens with special needs and their families benefit from a wide array of innovative respite, social, and recreational programs. The Volunteer Club motivates, inspires and enriches the lives of the teen mentors.

Friendship Circle is made up of 5 jewels: children, families, volunteers, staff and supporters. The beauty of the circle is how we all link together to form a seamless circle of friendship.

Atlantic has been an active supporter of Friendship Circle for almost a decade. Recently, we have become major sponsor for Friendship Circle’s LifeTown project, a replica of Main Street USA that teaches children how to work in a typical downtown store. Atlantic Copy Shop will be a part of that Main St initiative and will be a place for children and young adults on the spectrum to learn how to use copier/printing equipment supplied by Atlantic.

Christian Health Care Center

How we support...

Atlantic has been a good friend to CHCC since 2005.  In this 10+ year history, Atlantic has faithfully responded every year to CHCC’s Annual Fund appeals. CHCC serves a vulnerable population – the elderly and the mentally ill. Over the years, Atlantic’s donations to our appeal requests have helped renovate resident and patient rooms, upgrade nursing stations and common and shared spaces, and built additions to both sides of our nursing home. CHCC added a new service line – short-term rehab.

Gifts from Atlantic helped fund the transformation of a wing into our Post-Acute Care Unit and the addition of a 14,000 sq. ft. rehabilitation gymnasium. Atlantic’s gifts through sponsorship of our events have also helped with renovations and upgrades within our psychiatric hospital as well as our assisted living residence. In short, our relationship with Atlantic is one we treasure. Your very generous gifts have contributed greatly to the transformation of spaces improving quality of life and programs for the many individuals entrusted to our care.
